This Istanbul watercolor print shows the Blue Mosque and its six minarets rising over Sultanahmet Square, with Hagia Sophia on the right and the Sea of Marmara beyond. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Istanbul, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Pink Judas trees and blossoms are dabbed in rose and violet, terracotta roofs in the foreground are washed in orange, and fine ink outlines the domes and minarets. Silver-grey lead domes, park greens and terracotta set the palette, with pink blossoms, a red tram and simit cart, and the blue Sea of Marmara as accents. The Blue Mosque stands on the left with its domes and minarets reaching upward, while Hagia Sophia sits farther back on the right and a round fountain among tulip beds anchors the center. Ottoman tiled roofs and a rooftop cafe fill the foreground, seen from a high terrace. Long pink-red drips and pink, yellow and blue splatters soften the edges into a white paper border in mid-spring. "ISTANBUL" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Red vintage tram. An old-style red tram rolls through the park below the mosque.
- Simit cart. A red street cart selling simit bread waits near the square.
- Tulips and Judas trees. Pink blossoms and tulip beds frame the round fountain.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Soft pinks, greys and terracotta suit a bedroom, a reading corner or a dining room with warm wood. Give it to someone who grew up in Istanbul or a traveler who loved the view from a rooftop terrace.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Istanbul? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Sultanahmet. The tram is drawn as a vintage red car and Hagia Sophia is painted in a softer beige-grey, so some details are simplified.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "ISTANBUL," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
