A Goblin Valley travel poster looking across the hoodoo field at low sun. Squat mushroom-capped rocks stand in loose ranks on a cracked clay pan, their shadows stretching left across the sand, and behind them a long banded mesa and a second cliff line close off the valley under a clear sky.
About the artwork
Drawn in a screenprint idiom — hard-edged shapes with coarse stipple and mottling standing in for halftone, which gives the sandstone its eroded, pitted surface. The palette is tight and hot: brick and terracotta on the sunlit rock faces, deep maroon in the shadows, pale wheat and cream on the clay floor, then a cool jump to slate blue and near-white on the distant mesa. The sky is a smooth gradient from mid cobalt at the top to pale haze at the horizon. The cracked mud in the foreground is drawn as a fine network of dark lines. Text sits at the top in white condensed capitals: GOBLIN VALLEY, with UTAH beneath. A small circular monogram appears in the lower right corner of the artwork. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Rock shapes nowhere else has — the mushroom hoodoos are unmistakable, even at a glance across a room.
- Screenprint texture — stippled sandstone that reads as printed ink rather than smooth vector fill.
- Hot and cool in one frame — terracotta foreground against slate-blue cliffs and cobalt sky.
- A quieter Utah landmark — a state park most people find on the second or third trip, not the first.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Terracotta and wheat make this one of the easiest prints to place in a warm room — leather, jute, rattan, unglazed pottery. It is almost tonal against the terracotta wall in the photographs above, which is worth doing if you want it to sit back rather than shout. On a cream or bone wall the cobalt sky becomes the accent instead. Natural or espresso wood frames beat black here.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The stipple texture gains a lot with scale. 18" x 24" is a solid shelf or desk size; 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" lets the cracked clay foreground read properly.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, with hardware fitted.
What does the poster say? The printed text reads GOBLIN VALLEY across the top with UTAH beneath it. The words state park do not appear on the artwork.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
