This Gettysburg watercolor print shows the domed Pennsylvania State Memorial in Gettysburg National Military Park, with bronze cannons and a wildflower field in front. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Gettysburg, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
The white granite memorial is left as paper with gray shadows and fine ink on its arches and statues. The meadow is washed in yellow and green with dots of wildflowers, the zigzag rail fence is drawn in clear ink, and the left edge blends yellow and blue with long drips and splatter around a white paper border. The memorial with its four arches, dome and winged figure on top stands at center, rising into the upper third, with bronze cannons on wooden wheels and smaller monuments on both sides. A battlefield road curves through along Cemetery Ridge, and two wooded hills close the view on a midsummer day in early July. "GETTYSBURG" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Quiet, respectful mood. The open field and calm sky give the scene a peaceful, reflective feel.
- Ranger on horseback. A mounted ranger rides along the road past bronze cannons.
- Black-eyed Susans. Yellow black-eyed Susans and violet wildflowers fill the foreground meadow.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Golden field tones, green and white suit a study, a library, an office or a hallway with dark wood. It is a meaningful gift for a history teacher, a Civil War reader or a family that toured the battlefield together.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Gettysburg? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Gettysburg, and some features are exaggerated, like the hills in the background, which are drawn taller than they are.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "GETTYSBURG," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
