This Frederick, Maryland watercolor print shows Carroll Creek Linear Park winding through downtown toward the twin spires of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Frederick, Maryland, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
The creek is layered in blue with white paper fountain spray, and the red brick church is drawn in fine ink on its spires and Gothic windows. Pink water lilies are dotted in, and the left edge blends pink and yellow with long drips and splatter around a white paper border. The church and its two tall spires stand right of center and reach into the upper third, with a clock tower and other steeples on the left and nineteenth-century brick rows along the water. The creek curves from the back left into the foreground under a small iron footbridge, with benches, lamps and lilies on a brick path, and Catoctin Mountain rising blue-violet in early summer. "FREDERICK" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Paddle boats on the creek. Swan-style paddle boats drift past a fountain in the middle of the water.
- Twin Gothic spires. Two tall spires on red brick form the main vertical line of the print.
- Water lilies in bloom. Pink lilies and flower baskets add color to the brick and blue water.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Styling it at home
Creek blue, brick red and green suit a dining room, a living room, a guest room or an entryway with warm wood. It is a romantic gift for a couple who got engaged in Frederick or a housewarming present for new neighbors downtown.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Frederick, Maryland? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Frederick, painted to capture the charm of Carroll Creek rather than an exact copy of every building.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "FREDERICK," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
