A Forillon National Park poster from the clifftop meadow: flat-topped limestone headlands dropping straight into the Gulf of St Lawrence, spruce forest running down to the edge, and a bank of white daisies and cow parsley crowding the foreground.
About the artwork
Three clean layers, and a soft foreground that stops the cliffs from feeling severe. The headlands are the subject — pale grey limestone drawn with its horizontal bedding visible, cut off flat along the top where the forest stops — and they step away from the viewer in three stages, each paler than the last. Below them the Gulf is a deep blue-green with the swell showing as fine pale arcs against the rock. In front, the meadow is worked flower by flower in white and cream against dark green, which is what gives the print its lightness.
The layout is the Canadian park service sheet used across this series: cream border, small dark capitals along the top reading QUEBEC · 48.89° N, 64.35° W · EST 1970, and FORILLON at the foot in heavy condensed type over NATIONAL PARK, with the Parks Canada wordmark and beaver roundel. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The end of the Appalachians. Forillon sits on the tip of the Gaspé, where the mountain chain finally runs into the sea.
- White flowers against grey rock. The meadow keeps a hard coastal subject warm and approachable.
- Whale coast. These are the waters people come to see minke, fin and blue whales in.
- Coordinates on the sheet. 48.89° N, 64.35° W, established 1970.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Deep green and grey with white flowers: it works on cream, bone and pale sage, and the daisies keep it from feeling heavy in a smaller room. Natural oak frames lift it; black frames emphasise the cliffs. It hangs naturally beside Cape Breton Highlands — two Atlantic cliff sheets, one green and one grey.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed and fit standard frames. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Where is Forillon? At the eastern tip of the Gaspé Peninsula in Quebec, on the Gulf of St Lawrence. The banner along the top gives the park's coordinates and its founding year, 1970.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
