This Flagstaff watercolor print shows the snowy San Francisco Peaks above downtown Flagstaff, with a long freight train passing the Tudor-style Flagstaff train depot. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Flagstaff, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
The peaks are layered blue-violet with streaks of snow left as white paper, and fine ink lines draw the depot's half-timbering, the rail cars and the brick storefronts. Ponderosa pines have red-brown trunks and dabbed green crowns, the red rocks in front bloom pink and brown, and several drips run from the lower left. The palette pairs deep pine green, brick and sandstone red, mountain blue and snow white, with an orange locomotive as the accent. The range stretches across the top, seen from a red-rock hillside with pines looking down on old brick buildings, the depot on the right and a freight train crossing diagonally. Early summer leaves only a little snow on the summits. "FLAGSTAFF" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Orange locomotive. A long freight train led by an orange engine runs right through town.
- Tall ponderosa pines. Red-barked pines frame the left side and give the print a mountain-town scale.
- Cyclist on the platform. A rider rolls past the brick depot with its half-timbered gables.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Pine green and brick red feel at home in a cabin, a den, a home office or a rustic hallway. It suits a train enthusiast, a hiker or someone who once lived among the pines.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Flagstaff? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Flagstaff that gathers the peaks, depot and downtown into one view.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "FLAGSTAFF," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
