This Finger Lakes watercolor print shows the long wooden pier at Clift Park on Skaneateles Lake, with a white two-deck tour boat moored alongside. It is a watercolor-style interpretation of the lake village, not an exact view.
About the artwork
The very clear lake is painted in turquoise with streaks of bare paper, and maples and elms are layered in green and yellow washes. Fine ink lines outline the octagonal gazebo, the pier and the tour boat, while cream and pink roses are dotted into the foreground. The pier reaches into the lake through the middle of the picture, the gazebo stands at its foot, and the brick and white clapboard buildings of Skaneateles village line the left shore with a white steeple among them. Farm-and-woodland hills run down both sides of the narrow lake, and benches, lamp posts and a low stone wall sit in the foreground. The palette is lake turquoise, leafy green and white, with soft pink flowers, in high summer. "FINGER LAKES" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Clear turquoise water. Bright, glassy lake water fills the center of the print.
- Lakeside gazebo. The octagonal gazebo at the foot of the pier adds a classic small-town note.
- Sailboats and runabouts. White sails and a classic wooden runabout drift across the lake.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Turquoise, green and white suit a farmhouse living room, a guest bedroom or a sunroom. It makes a lovely gift for someone who toured the Finger Lakes wine country or grew up in central New York.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Finger Lakes? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Skaneateles in the Finger Lakes. A few village details are simplified or added for the composition.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "FINGER LAKES," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
