This East Lansing watercolor print shows Beaumont Tower rising over the lawns of Michigan State University's old campus circle in spring. It is an artistic, watercolor-style take on the campus rather than an exact view.
About the artwork
The red-brick tower is built up in clear orange-brown glazes, and fine brown ink picks out its pointed openings, corner buttresses, ivy and lampposts. Crabapple blossoms are dropped in as wet pink and white dots, and a curving path through the green lawn is left as pale paper. Beaumont Tower stands in the center, framed by two ivy-covered brick halls with gabled roofs. Students walk the path, a cyclist passes, and soft campus trees line the horizon under a pale blue sky. The left edge and bottom dissolve into pink and blue blooms, long drips and splatter. "EAST LANSING" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Squirrel in the corner. A small squirrel sits on the grass at the lower edge, a detail that rewards a closer look.
- Crabapple pink. Flowering crabapples add soft pink and white against the green lawn and orange brick.
- Centered tower view. The tower sits squarely in the middle, framed by ivy-covered halls on both sides.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Its greens and soft pinks suit a first apartment living room, a study or a bedroom with natural wood. It makes a thoughtful graduation gift for a Michigan State graduate or a reminder of spring semesters on campus.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of East Lansing? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Beaumont Tower and the old campus, painted in a loose watercolor style.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "EAST LANSING," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
