A Dinosaur Valley State Park poster looking upstream along the Paluxy River between low limestone bluffs. The water is shallow and glass-clear over ledged bedrock, and in the foreground slab a line of three-toed dinosaur tracks is visible under a few inches of green water — the reason the park exists.
About the artwork
Painterly digital illustration with layered, hand-worked texture rather than flat vector shapes. The palette is deep cobalt sky at the top, towering white and pale-grey cumulus, chalky cream and buff limestone, olive and forest green oak canopy, spiky lime grass clumps, and water that shifts from teal to jade to rust-brown where it thins over the rock. The stepped ledges on the left bank and the fossil footprints in the bottom third are the two details to look for. Type sits at the bottom in bold white sans-serif: DINOSAUR VALLEY above STATE PARK • TEXAS. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The tracks are actually drawn — three-toed prints in the submerged slab, not implied by the name alone.
- Clear-water painting — you can read the riverbed through the surface, which is hard to do and rarely attempted.
- Green and blue, no desert — an unexpectedly lush Texas print for anyone tired of cactus imagery.
- Kids get it instantly — it works over a bed or a study desk as easily as in a living room.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Jade water and cream limestone are quiet colours, so this one behaves well on white, pale grey or soft green walls. Against the sage-toned arched alcove in the photographs above the greens line up almost exactly. The buff rock tones also sit comfortably next to light oak and rattan, and the cobalt band at the top gives a plain room one clean point of saturation.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The footprints in the foreground are the reward for looking closely, so go at least 18" x 24". Over a sofa or a bed, 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" keeps them clearly visible from standing distance.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
What does the poster say? The printed type reads DINOSAUR VALLEY on the top line and STATE PARK • TEXAS below it, in white capitals across the base.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
