A Deception Pass Bridge poster looking north through the channel from the rocks on the south shore. The green steel span crosses the top third of the frame on tall concrete piers, the tide runs hard through the narrows below it in ropes of white water, and evergreen headlands close in on both sides.
About the artwork
Detailed vector illustration with fine linework in the trees and the bridge trusses set against broad flat colour elsewhere. The palette runs sea green and mint in the painted steelwork, deep forest and near-black green in the Douglas firs, turquoise through petrol blue in the tidal water with cream and white in the current rips, warm grey and buff in the rock, and a pale teal sky. Driftwood and dry bleached grass sit in the foreground ledge at bottom left. The truss is drawn member by member, so the diagonals stay legible against the water. Printed type reads DECEPTION PASS in white capitals with WASHINGTON letterspaced below. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Engineering and coastline together — the truss and the tide race are both the subject, which is rare in a landscape print.
- Green on green — the painted steel and the firs share a palette, so the print reads calm rather than busy.
- Moving water — the white rips through the narrows give the picture life without any figures in it.
- Pacific Northwest in one frame — conifers, salt water and grey rock, with no cliché.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — stretched canvas in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The greens and teals here are cool and deep, so they hold their own on a strong wall. The sage green room in the photographs above is the natural pairing — the wall and the fir tones agree, and the turquoise water lifts out of them. On plain white the bridge reads as a graphic silhouette instead. A black frame sharpens the steelwork; natural oak warms the rock and driftwood in the foreground.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The truss detail is fine, so 18" x 24" is a sensible floor. At 24" x 36" the individual diagonals and the current lines in the water both stay readable from a few steps away.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas is stretched and set in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, with hanging hardware fitted.
What does the poster say? DECEPTION PASS in large white capitals across the top, with WASHINGTON letterspaced beneath. The words State Park are not printed on the artwork.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
