This Chicago watercolor print shows Willis Tower, the twin corncob towers of Marina City and the white Wrigley Building above the Chicago River, with the Riverwalk steps in front. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Chicago, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines map out tower windows, the round balconies of Marina City and the bridge trusses, with clear blue washes on glass and water. The left side and bottom break into green, yellow and pink leaf washes, splatters and a yellow-brown drip, with white paper open above the skyline. Blue-black steel, blue glass and the cream terra-cotta Wrigley Building set the palette, with yellow, red-orange and green as small accents. Willis Tower stands left of center with its two antennas in the upper third, Marina City sits in the middle, the Wrigley Building and its clock tower stand close on the right bank, and the river runs deep into the picture under a row of lift bridges. The foreground holds the stepped Riverwalk with café umbrellas and lamp posts on a clear summer day. "CHICAGO" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it

- Riverwalk steps. People sit on the stepped Riverwalk beside white café umbrellas.
- Corncob towers. The round, scalloped balconies of Marina City are drawn in careful detail.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Cool blues, cream and gray make it a natural fit for a modern office, loft living room or entryway. It is a fitting gift for a Chicago native, a recent grad or anyone moving out of the city.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Chicago? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Chicago in watercolor style. Some details, such as the river and bridge colors, are simplified for the painting.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "CHICAGO," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
