This Buckingham Fountain Chicago watercolor print shows the three-tiered fountain in Grant Park with its tall center jet, surrounded by spring tulips and the city skyline. It is a watercolor-style interpretation of the fountain and gardens, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines draw the three pink basins and the pairs of bronze sea horses, while the water jets and spray are bare white paper with light blue strokes. Tulips are layered red and pink dots, and pink and green washes with gold drips run along the left edge and bottom. The palette is tree and lawn green, the blue of sky and glass towers and the pink marble of the fountain, with red-pink tulip beds as accents. The fountain stands at the center, seen from the lakefront side of Grant Park looking west, with a wide gravel plaza, flowerbeds, benches and lampposts in the foreground. Rows of trees and the Chicago skyline, with the dark Willis Tower on the left, fill the background in late spring. "CHICAGO" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Wedding-cake tiers. Three tiered basins of pink marble rise to a tall center jet of water.
- Bronze sea horses. Green bronze sea horses spray water around the lower basin.
- Park day scene. Families, joggers, a cyclist and people on wooden benches enjoy the plaza.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Styling it at home
The fresh greens and pinks brighten a dining room, entryway or bedroom with white or sage walls. It is a cheerful gift for a Chicago native, or for newlyweds who took photos by the fountain. Pair it with our Chicago watercolor print for a two-piece set.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Buckingham Fountain Chicago? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Grant Park, and a few skyline buildings are simplified.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "CHICAGO," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
