This Bruges watercolor print shows the Belfry of Bruges rising above the Rozenhoedkaai, with brick gabled houses and golden willows reflected in the canal. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Bruges, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Weeping willows fall in long yellow-green strokes, the canal holds vertical reflections of brick and sky, and fine ink lines pick out the stepped gables and the bell tower. Burnt orange roofs and leaves, red-brown brick and willow gold set the palette, with canal blue, moss green and the grey-violet of distant spires as accents. The Belfry stands slightly left of center, with stepped-gable and half-timbered houses along the left bank and a small arched stone bridge in the distance. The canal and a cobbled path with an iron railing fill the right foreground. Yellow-orange drips and orange, pink and blue splatters fade the edges into a white paper border in late autumn. "BRUGES" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Pair of swans. Two white swans glide on the canal below the houses.
- Open canal boat. A tour boat full of passengers drifts toward the bridge.
- Willows on the water. Golden branches trail down until they touch the canal.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Burnt orange and brick tones warm up a reading room, a fall-themed entryway or a living room with leather and wood. Give it to someone who loves medieval towns or as a memory of a Belgian weekend.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Bruges? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the Rozenhoedkaai and the Belfry. The air is painted clearer than on a misty day, and the buildings are loosely simplified.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "BRUGES," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
