A Brown County State Park poster taken from a wooden overlook deck at the peak of autumn. The railing and plank floor fill the bottom third, striped with the shadows of the oaks overhead, and beyond it the hills of southern Indiana roll away in wave after wave of scarlet, orange and gold until they fade to blue at the horizon.
About the artwork
Flat, hard-edged vector shapes with a strong sense of layered depth: each ridge is a separate tone, cooling from hot red in front to smoky teal-blue in the distance. The palette runs scarlet, burnt orange, marigold and rust against a pale mint-and-aqua sky with thin cloud bars. Framing oaks stand at both edges, one in deep red and one in yellow, and a pale limestone outcrop breaks through on the right. The honey-coloured deck boards and the long bars of shadow across them are the detail that makes it feel like a real vantage point. The type reads BROWN COUNTY above INDIANA in white capitals. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Autumn at full strength — four or five distinct reds and golds instead of one flat orange.
- You are standing somewhere — the deck and railing put the viewer on the overlook rather than floating above it.
- Depth you can count — the ridges recede in readable steps from red to blue.
- For Indiana hikers — leaf season in the state's largest park, the trip people repeat every October.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
This is a warm print and it wants warm company. The terracotta room and the walnut dining corner in the photographs above are its natural homes, and cream or clay-coloured walls let the reds glow rather than shout. Against cool grey or bright white the aqua sky reads sharper and the whole thing turns more graphic. Oak and walnut frames echo the deck boards.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The layered ridges reward size, so 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" over a sofa or bed. In a hallway or beside a desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24" still holds the composition.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship rolled and unframed. Matte canvas arrives stretched and ready to hang, and framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? The printed text is BROWN COUNTY with INDIANA beneath it, in white capitals. The words State Park are not printed on the sheet, so the artwork reads simply as Brown County.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
