This Barcelona watercolor print shows the Sagrada Família rising over the Eixample street grid, seen from a hilltop near the old Bunkers del Carmel with the Mediterranean Sea beyond. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Barcelona, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines detail the pierced spires and carved facades of the basilica, while the blocks and roofs of the Eixample are built from many tiny dabs. Agave and cactus are painted in clear gray-green layers, and the left edge and bottom break into orange, blue and pink dots with drips at both lower corners. Warm sandstone, cream and ochre blocks and terracotta roofs set the palette, with Mediterranean blue, gray-green agave and red cactus fruit as accents. The basilica stands left of center with its spires in the upper third, the grid stretches to the sea, and the bullet-shaped Torre Glòries rises on the right. Old bunker walls, agave, prickly pear and pines fill the hilltop foreground in early summer. "BARCELONA" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Hilltop lookout. People sit on old bunker walls to take in the city below.
- Desert garden foreground. Large agave, prickly pear with red fruit and a leaning pine frame the view.
- Grid to the sea. The Eixample blocks stretch out toward a band of blue Mediterranean water.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Styling it at home
Sandstone, terracotta and sea blue suit a sunny living room, dining area or office with warm wood or rattan. It is a thoughtful gift for a friend who lived in Barcelona or a couple planning a trip to Spain.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Barcelona? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Barcelona in watercolor style. Some details, like the colorful mosaic work, are simplified into warm stone tones.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "BARCELONA," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
