This Athens, Georgia watercolor print shows the black iron University of Georgia Arch opening onto North Campus from Broad Street, with the white-columned UGA Chapel behind. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Athens, Georgia, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink outlines the black ironwork, the globe lamp posts and the windows of the brick buildings, and the crosswalk stripes are bare paper on a blue-gray street. Green leads the palette, with brick red along Broad Street, white dogwood, pink azaleas, white columns and black iron. The arch stands at the center of the middle ground, the Chapel sits behind it, and a brick building with a bell tower rises on the right. Brick shopfronts with black awnings line both sides, and the foreground is the crosswalk with white and pink shrubs. It is mid-spring, and the left edge dissolves into pink and white with drips and splatter. "ATHENS" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Iron arch gateway. The black arch frames the walk into campus at the center of the scene.
- Street musician. A guitarist plays on the sidewalk as students pass by.
- Dogwood and azalea. White dogwood and pink azaleas bloom along Broad Street.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Styling it at home
Green, brick red and white fit a dorm room, a first apartment or a home office with warm wood. It is a fun gift for a Georgia graduate, a new student or parents who loved their college years in Athens.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Athens, Georgia? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Athens, Georgia, and some details, like the shape of the arch, are simplified.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "ATHENS," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
