This Annecy watercolor print shows the Palais de l'Isle sitting like a ship's prow in the middle of the Thiou canal, framed by pastel houses and geranium-covered railings. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Annecy, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
The turquoise canal is built from several clear layers, with reflections left as white paper, and thin brown ink lines trace the stonework and tile roofs. The left edge and bottom break into orange, red and green splatter, with a drip in the lower left corner. Turquoise water, gray-beige stone, red-brown roofs and pastel yellow and pink houses form the palette, with red-orange geraniums as the accent. The palace sits at center with its point toward the viewer, arched stone bridges cross on both sides, cafés sit under red awnings, and the Château d'Annecy stands on the hill at the back right. Wooded mountains and a distant snowy peak rise on the left in early summer. "ANNECY" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Swans on the canal. A pair of white swans floats near a small rowboat with two people aboard.
- Geranium railing. An iron railing overflowing with red geraniums frames the bottom of the scene.
- Alpine backdrop. Green wooded slopes and a snow-capped peak sit behind the old town.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The turquoise and terracotta tones brighten a bathroom, kitchen or guest room with white walls and natural textures. It makes a sweet anniversary gift for a couple who honeymooned in the French Alps.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Annecy? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the Thiou canal. Some details are embellished, and the Palais de l'Isle is drawn with more towers than the real building, so it reads a little like a storybook castle.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "ANNECY," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
