This Ann Arbor watercolor print shows Burton Memorial Tower and Hill Auditorium on the University of Michigan campus, framed by trees in full fall color. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Ann Arbor, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines pick out the limestone tower, its narrow vertical windows and clock face, and the arched entrance of the auditorium. The tree canopy is built from many layers of orange, yellow and red, and the left edge melts into orange-red drips with orange and blue splatter. The palette pairs maple orange, gold, green and brick red with the cream stone of the tower and the green copper roof of the hall. The clock tower rises right of center, Hill Auditorium stands to the left, and a brick path along Ingalls Mall leads across the lawn toward the tower. A fountain with bronze figures sits in the lower left foreground under a mid-autumn sky. "ANN ARBOR" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Campus in autumn. Students with backpacks walk the brick path while a cyclist rolls past.
- Warm maple tones. Orange, gold and red leaves surround the pale stone tower.
- Bronze fountain. A many-figured bronze fountain and two friends on a stone bench add a quiet foreground moment.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The warm autumn palette looks right in a study, home office or den with leather, walnut or deep green accents. It makes a meaningful graduation gift or a keepsake for anyone who spent their college years in Ann Arbor.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Ann Arbor? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the campus, and a few buildings are simplified or rearranged, with some extra brick buildings in the background.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "ANN ARBOR," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
