An Allentown, Pennsylvania poster seen from across a wooded ridge at the end of the day. The city's stepped Art Deco tower stands well above everything around it, its setbacks and buttressed crown catching low amber sun, while the rest of downtown falls away in smaller brick and glass blocks. Layered Lehigh Valley hills fade out behind.
About the artwork
Flat vector illustration that leans on stacked silhouettes instead of outlines. Half the frame is treetops: dense canopy drawn in five or six tones of teal, sea green and pale sage, with slim bare trunks along the lower edge. Against that the built-up city runs warm — apricot, amber and terracotta on the sunlit faces, cool slate on the shadowed ones, with a small green cupola and copper roofs among the low buildings. The sky is a plain pale blue over ranks of blue-grey ridges. Type is white: ALLENTOWN with PENNSYLVANIA spaced beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The tower everyone in the valley knows — that stepped Deco crown is the one shape Allentown is recognised by.
- Forest and city in one frame — more landscape than skyline print, which is why it hangs well in a living room.
- Warm against cool — amber stonework set into teal canopy, a colour pairing that carries across a room.
- Lehigh Valley specific — a real vantage over the ridges, not a stock downtown elevation.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The dominant colour here is green, so it belongs in rooms that already have some. It settles beautifully against the sage wall in the photographs above, and the amber tower picks up brass and warm oak. On plain white it reads cooler and more graphic. Avoid hanging it next to strong reds, which fight the teal canopy.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The canopy has a lot of fine leaf work, so 18" x 24" is the smallest that does it justice. 24" x 36" over a sofa, 30" x 40" for a stairwell.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame, wired and ready to hang.
What does the poster say? ALLENTOWN in large capitals with PENNSYLVANIA spaced out underneath. There is no other text in the design.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.

- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
