An Albuquerque, New Mexico travel poster taken from the sidewalk on Central Avenue, looking east along the old Route 66 alignment. The KiMo Theatre holds the middle of the frame: vertical blade sign, wraparound marquee, Pueblo Deco brickwork and a terracotta tile parapet. Behind the low storefronts the Sandia Mountains stack up in flat blue ridges.
About the artwork
Flat vector illustration with hard-edged shapes and a lightly grained finish on the road and pavement. The palette runs warm against cool: dusty turquoise sky, sand and adobe cream on the theatre, brick red and terracotta on the roof tiles and awnings, deep turquoise on the blade sign and ornament, and hazy grey-blue for the mountains. A tall highway-style street lamp cuts up the left edge, and the empty asphalt is drawn with long streaks of tyre wear. Type is white: ALBUQUERQUE in wide capitals, NEW MEXICO spaced beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A real corner of Central Avenue — the KiMo's blade sign and marquee, not a generic desert scene.
- Route 66 without the cliches — no neon clip art, just the street as it looks in late afternoon light.
- Southwest colour that works indoors — turquoise and adobe read as warm neutrals, not costume.
- The mountains are in it — the Sandias give the print depth that a pure streetscape would miss.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Adobe cream, brick red and turquoise make this an easy fit for warm rooms. It sits especially well on the terracotta wall in the photographs above, where the theatre facade picks up the paint. On plain white the turquoise sky does the talking. Pair it with walnut or espresso wood, woven baskets and clay pots rather than chrome.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The theatre detail rewards scale. 18" x 24" suits a hallway or desk wall; 24" x 36" and up lets you read the marquee and the mountain ridges from a sofa.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame, wired and ready to hang.
What does the poster say? ALBUQUERQUE at the top with NEW MEXICO underneath. The blade sign on the building reads KIMO, the name of the theatre in the picture.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
