A Wilmington North Carolina poster seen from out on the water, looking back at the downtown waterfront. The timber Riverwalk railing runs from the right edge into a distant vanishing point, and behind it stands the row of nineteenth-century brick commercial blocks: a tall red warehouse with white keystones and arched windows nearest the viewer, then lower storefronts, awnings, street trees and a small steepled roof further along the bank.
About the artwork
Hard-edged vector illustration built from flat colour planes, with the river worked as hundreds of short horizontal strokes and small white starburst glints. The palette pairs a flat turquoise sky and deep teal water against brick red, coral and rust in the buildings, cream and bone in the window trim and cornices, with olive and forest green in the trees. The building colour drops back into the water as a long vertical band of orange reflection down the right side, which is the strongest gesture in the print. Type sits high in the sky in white capitals, WILMINGTON above NORTH CAROLINA. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The water does the work — roughly two-thirds of the print is river, glints and reflection rather than skyline.
- Teal against brick red — a complementary pairing that reads strongly from across a room.
- Real riverfront architecture — arched windows, cornices and awnings drawn building by building, not generalised.
- For people who walk the boardwalk — anyone who has taken the Riverwalk at golden hour will place this view immediately.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The teal river makes this an easy fit for white, pale grey or soft blue walls, where the brick red reads as the accent. On the terracotta wall shown in the photographs above the relationship flips and the water becomes the cool relief. A black frame tightens the geometry of the railing; light oak keeps the whole thing airy and summery in a coastal or bathroom-adjacent hallway.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The far end of the boardwalk is fine detail, so 24" x 36" suits a sofa or bed wall. For a narrow hallway, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24" still holds the reflection and the front warehouse.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
Is this Wilmington, Delaware? No. This is Wilmington in North Carolina, the port city on the Cape Fear River near Wrightsville Beach. Wilmington, Delaware is a separate city on the Christina River in the mid-Atlantic.
What does the poster say? WILMINGTON in large white capitals with NORTH CAROLINA set smaller beneath it.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
