A Willis Tower Chicago poster seen from water level rather than from the top. The black bundled-tube tower stands at the left with its two white antennas clearing the frame, the river runs straight down the centre, and the canyon closes in on both banks. A stone riverwalk arcade lines the right edge and a low bridge crosses in the far distance, small enough to set the scale.
About the artwork
Hard-edged vector shapes with a fine grain stippled through the sky, printed almost as a duotone. The palette holds to about five values: pale teal at the top graded down to bone-cream near the horizon, near-black charcoal on the shaded west faces, bone and pale gold where low sun catches the east elevations on the right, mid slate-teal for the mass of buildings, and a deeper green-teal river drawn in short horizontal strokes. Windows are ruled as regular grids, and the setbacks of the tall tower are the only broken silhouette in the image. Type sits at the top in white sans-serif capitals: CHICAGO, with ILLINOIS smaller beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Looking up at the tower — the building whose Skydeck ledge sits 103 floors above this water, drawn from the river instead.
- Almost monochrome — teal, charcoal and bone, so it behaves like a neutral on a busy wall.
- Real perspective — the banks converge and the bridge shrinks, so the depth is earned rather than implied.
- Grain, not gloss — the stippled sky gives it the feel of a screen print rather than a photograph.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The cool teal and charcoal read as a soft neutral, which makes this one of the easiest prints here to place. It is very good in a home office or a hallway, and it sits particularly well against the sage green wall in the photographs above, where the greens agree. On warm terracotta it turns into a deliberate contrast instead. Black framing suits the graphic edges; espresso adds weight without warming the palette.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The ruled window grids hold up at every scale. 16" x 24" works above a desk; 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" suits a stairwell where you see it from a distance.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame, wired and ready to hang.
What does the poster say? The printed text reads CHICAGO with ILLINOIS beneath it. The tower is not labelled on the artwork, and no signage appears on any of the buildings.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
