A Wichita Kansas travel poster taken from the riverwalk on a still, cloudless afternoon. A pale concrete path cuts diagonally across the foreground with clumps of dry prairie grass breaking its edge. The Arkansas River fills the right side, flat and deep blue, and across the water sits the low downtown line with a round teal dome and a bridge running off to the left.
About the artwork
Flat vector work, very restrained — large uninterrupted colour fields, no outlines, and only the grasses rendered in fine individual strokes. The palette runs to about six colours: a single flat cerulean sky filling the whole upper half, two blues in the water separated by a paler band at the far bank, cream and warm sand in the concrete, muted terracotta and grey in the distant blocks, and straw-gold with rust tips in the grass. The dome is the one saturated note, a turquoise curve against beige. Speckled texture is dusted lightly over the path to keep it from going dead. Type sits at the top in white serif-free capitals: WICHITA, with KANSAS smaller beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Mostly sky — the top half is one flat blue, which is the honest way to draw Kansas.
- Prairie grass in the foreground — the only fussy detail in the print, and it earns its place.
- A city print without a skyline cliche — downtown is a thin strip in the distance, not the hero.
- Genuinely calm — no people, no traffic, no weather, so it does not compete with a room.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — stretched and set in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Cream and cerulean is about as easy as a palette gets. It suits a home office or a reading corner, and it is very comfortable on the beige and warm-white walls shown in the photographs above. The straw-gold grasses pull toward oak and rattan, so a natural oak frame is the safest choice; white framing pushes it further toward minimal and lets the flat sky do all the talking.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Because the composition is so open, it scales well in either direction. 11" x 17" suits a desk wall, 24" x 36" gives the sky room to be the subject.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame, wired and ready to hang.
What does the poster say? The printed text reads WICHITA with KANSAS beneath it. Nothing else in the artwork carries lettering.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
