A Vienna travel poster above the Belvedere: the baroque palace running the width of the frame in cream stone and copper-green domes, its formal parterre gardens laid out in clipped geometry below, and the city skyline fading into hills behind.
About the artwork
An exercise in order. The gardens are drawn as true geometry — box parterres, gravel paths, statuary and fountain basins all set out in symmetry — and the palace roofline repeats that discipline above them. The palette is deliberately cool and pale: cream and bone for the stone, oxidised copper green on every dome and roof, and a full range of greens in the planting from clipped box to weeping willow. A wide band of pale duck-egg sky sits above, with the spires of the inner city small on the horizon. Statues and urns are picked out individually along the terraces. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Austria beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Symmetry that actually resolves. Formal gardens are hard to draw convincingly; this one holds its geometry all the way to the horizon.
- Copper green and cream. A restrained, slightly aristocratic palette that suits a formal room.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The formality suits a dining room or a hallway with panelled walls better than a casual living room. Cream, bone and pale sage walls work; so does a deeper green, which the domes will pick up. It is the one print in the series that carries an ornate gold frame without looking overdressed. Give it width in the sightline — it is a horizontal subject in a vertical format, so a cramped wall works against it.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? 16" x 24" and up so the parterre geometry stays readable. 24" x 36" or larger above a sideboard or dining table.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Which palace is it? The Belvedere, the baroque summer palace complex above the gardens on the south side of the inner city.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
