A Tyler State Park Texas poster looking down a narrow, glass-still channel in the East Texas woods. Two paddlers sit in an orange canoe mid-frame, dwarfed by the trunks that rise on both banks. Spanish moss hangs from the branches overhead, a tall thunderhead climbs through the gap in the canopy, and cream-white blossoms crowd the bottom corners of the picture.
About the artwork
This one is drawn with a heavy, ink-like line: the bark is scored in long vertical strokes and the foliage is cut into flat, overlapping leaf clusters, giving it a woodcut feel rather than the softer painted look of the other prints in the range. The palette is deep and cool — bottle green and blue-black through the canopy, olive and grey-brown on the trunks, a wide sweep of steel blue water carrying the cloud reflection — with only two warm notes: the cream and gold of the cumulus, and the burnt orange of the canoe, which is the single brightest thing in the frame. The type sits low and centred, reading TYLER in heavy condensed capitals over a spaced line of STATE PARK · TEXAS. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- An orange dot that carries the whole picture — the canoe gives scale to trunks that would otherwise read as abstract columns.
- The East Texas piney woods, properly dark — no bluebonnet-and-sunshine cliche of Texas here.
- A bolder line than the rest of the series — the woodcut-style linework makes it a good anchor print in a mixed gallery wall.
- Blossoms as a frame — the pale flowers at the base lift the dark palette without breaking it.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The dark green and steel blue want a light surround: warm white, bone or pale putty walls let the canopy read as depth rather than as a dark block. Against a deep green or navy wall it turns moody and works well in a study. A white frame gives the most separation; the natural oak in the photographs above ties it to the trunk colours, and espresso suits it in a low-lit room.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The canoe and the figures in it are small, so this print gains from scale. 18" x 24" and up keeps them legible; below that the picture reads mainly as trees and water.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
What does the poster say? The lettering reads TYLER on the top line, with STATE PARK · TEXAS in smaller spaced capitals underneath. The full park name is split across the two lines, which is why the printed text differs from the product title.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
