This Trevi Fountain watercolor print shows the Baroque fountain in Rome from an upper window across Piazza di Trevi, with the statue of Oceanus at its center. Like every print in this series, it is an artistic watercolor-style rendering, not an exact copy of the scene.
About the artwork
Careful brown ink lines pick out each statue, Corinthian column and carved rock over a thin cream wash with gray-violet shadows. The basin is a clear turquoise, and the falling water is left as white paper. The fountain fills the center, with Oceanus in the arched niche, sea horses and tritons on the rocks below and the Palazzo Poli façade behind. Orange-pink palazzi with green shutters flank both sides, and Roman rooftops and a distant dome fill the background in warm late-summer light. "ROME" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Coin-toss moment. Tiny tourists sit on the rim and toss coins into the basin.
- Carved Baroque detail. Statues, columns and cascades are drawn with close, careful ink work.
- Roses on balconies. Pink roses on the balconies echo the rosy palazzi around the square.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Turquoise, cream and rosy terracotta look fresh in a bathroom, a bedroom or a sunny entryway. Give it as a honeymoon keepsake or to someone who tossed a coin and promised to come back to Rome. Pair it with our Rome watercolor print for a two-piece set.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Trevi Fountain? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the Trevi Fountain, seen from an imagined high window with simplified details.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "ROME," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
