A Torngat Mountains National Park poster from a tundra ridge: bare rust-coloured ground falling away to a cold fjord scattered with icebergs, dark peaks running down the far shore, and a bank of cumulus stacked over the water.
About the artwork
A print about bare ground. The foreground is rock and dry tundra, painted in rust, ochre and olive with the bedrock breaking through in grey slabs, and it takes up nearly half the sheet — which is what makes the fjord below feel as remote as it is. The icebergs are the only true white in the picture, drawn as faceted blocks with pale blue in their shadowed faces, and the peaks beyond are handled in cool violet-grey with snow in the gullies. There is no tree anywhere in the frame; this is above the treeline.
The layout is the Canadian park service sheet used across this series, with the type in steel blue: cream border, small dark capitals along the top reading NEWFOUNDLAND & LABRADOR · 59.43° N, 63.86° W · EST 2008, and TORNGAT MOUNTAINS at the foot over NATIONAL PARK, with the Parks Canada wordmark and beaver roundel. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Icebergs in a fjord. Rare subject matter for a wall print, and the reason this one stops people.
- Rust against cold blue. The tundra ground gives the print its warmth; without it the picture would be all ice.
- Inuit homeland. The park is managed with the Inuit of Nunatsiavut and Nunavik, and access is by boat or helicopter only.
- Canada's newest mountain park. Established 2008, printed on the sheet with its coordinates.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The rust foreground ties this print to clay, camel and warm grey walls, while the fjord keeps it from feeling heavy. Espresso frames suit the ground; black frames pick up the peaks. It hangs well beside Gros Morne — two Newfoundland and Labrador sheets, one green and one bare.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed and fit standard frames. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Why are there no trees? The park lies entirely north of the treeline on the Labrador coast. The banner along the top gives its coordinates and its founding year, 2008.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
