A Senso-ji temple print that skips the postcard view and goes straight to the roofline. A carved green roof corner, seen close up, juts into a vivid blue sky above red pillars. In a living room it reads almost like an abstract, all angles and color, until you notice the carving.
About the artwork
Three colors carry the whole design: the green of the carved roof, the red of the pillars below it, and a saturated blue sky behind. Because it is a close-up, the corner of the roof becomes a bold, angled shape, and the carving turns into the texture of the print. It keeps the flat, bright color of a retro poster. The lettering reads "TOKYO JAPAN" and "SENSO-JI", with a short line of Japanese characters. Portrait.
Why you'll love it
- A detail, not a skyline. Most temple prints show the whole building; this one looks up at a single roof corner.
- Green, red and blue at full strength. Three strong colors side by side give the print real punch from across a room.
- Carving you can study. The carved roof detail rewards a closer look once the first hit of color wears off.
- Half abstract, half architecture. The cropped view makes it easy to hang with modern art as well as other Japan prints.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Give it a white or warm gray living room wall where the blue sky can be the loudest thing in view. It suits a mid-century sofa, a walnut credenza or a black floor lamp. At 16" x 24" it fits beside a bookshelf; at 24" x 36" it anchors a reading corner. Pair it with a full view of the Senso-ji pagoda at the same size for a wide shot and a close-up side by side.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Which temple does the print show? The lettering names SENSO-JI and TOKYO JAPAN, and the image is a close-up of a green temple roof corner with red pillars.
Will it clash with other colors in my room? The blue, green and red are strong, so it works best with neutral walls and one or two accents pulled from the print.
Should I hang it alone or in a pair? It holds a wall alone at 24" x 36". It also pairs well with a full pagoda view in the same size and frame.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
