A Senso-ji pagoda print for a living room that likes a clear blue sky. The five-story pagoda stands tall, each roof trimmed in red, with white clouds drifting past and modern buildings rising behind it. It is a bright, calm picture of a temple holding its place inside a working city.
About the artwork
Blue sky, white clouds, and a pagoda in blue-green and red: the palette is short and bright, in the clean manner of a retro travel poster. The five roofs stack upward in tiers, each one edged in red, while the modern buildings stay in the background so the pagoda remains the subject. The lettering reads "TOKYO JAPAN" and "SENSŌ-JI", with a small line of Japanese characters alongside. Portrait.
Why you'll love it
- The temple is named on the print. SENSŌ-JI and TOKYO JAPAN are lettered on the design, so the subject is clear at a glance.
- Five tiers of red trim. The red edge on each roof gives the pagoda a steady rhythm from bottom to top.
- Old against new. Modern buildings behind the pagoda show a temple standing its ground in a modern city.
- A sky you can live with. Clear blue and white clouds make this a fresh, easy print for a room you use every day.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Put this in a living room with white, cream or soft sage walls, where the blue sky reads almost like a window. It suits a light oak sideboard or a linen sofa, and looks right at 18" x 24" above a console or 24" x 36" as the main piece. A potted plant nearby echoes the blue-green roofs. For a pair, hang it beside a close-up Senso-ji roof print: one shows the whole pagoda, the other a single corner.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What does SENSŌ-JI on the print refer to? It names the temple whose five-story pagoda is shown. The lettering also includes TOKYO JAPAN.
Is 18" x 24" big enough? Yes, above a console or on a narrower wall. Above a sofa, step up to 24" x 36" so the pagoda holds the wall.
Can I get it framed? Yes, in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. Black sharpens the red trim; natural keeps it light.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
