A Temple of Poseidon poster seen from the scrubland behind it: a burnt-orange headland running out toward the sea, the surviving white columns standing on the cliff edge to the right, and the Aegean below in flat navy with a thin line of surf where it meets the rock.
About the artwork
The picture is built on one hard colour opposition, orange rock against blue water, and very little else. The foreground is the larger half: dry ochre and rust ground drawn in broad faceted planes with lit and shadowed faces, scattered pale boulders, and dozens of low scrub bushes rendered as tight clusters of blue-grey and olive strokes, a few carrying small pink flower heads. A path of bare earth leads the eye out toward the headland. The temple stays small in the frame and is better for it: a row of slender white columns, some still carrying a fragment of architrave, on a stepped platform at the cliff top. The cliff below breaks into blocky grey and cream shelves with white water working at its base, the sea is deep navy scored with pale wave lines, and the sky is one flat blue with a bright band along the horizon. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Greece beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Orange against navy. The whole design runs on one complementary pair, which is why it holds a wall at a distance.
- The temple stays small. Keeping the columns modest in the frame makes the headland and the open sea the real subject.
- A foreground you can read close up. Individual scrub bushes, boulders and flower heads reward standing near the print.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The rust and terracotta side of it warms a room, so it sits well on cream, sand or muted olive walls and next to leather, linen and aged brass. Walnut and espresso frames pick up the ground; a black frame sharpens the sea. It works as a pair with the Parga or Corinth Canal prints for a Greek wall, and the same warm-ground, cold-sky structure makes it an easy neighbour for the Ávila print.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
What wording is printed on the poster? The design reads SOUNION above GREECE; the Temple of Poseidon on the cape is the subject of the view.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
