A Syracuse New York poster built around one building: a tall red sandstone hall on the university quad, with a square tower carrying a steep spire and a row of stepped gables running off to the right. Snow sits thick on every roof and covers the open quad in front, where bare trees throw long blue shadows across the drifts.
About the artwork
Flat vector illustration with hard-edged shapes and no outlines. The palette is narrow and cold: salmon-red masonry for the hall, cream and pale blue for lying snow, a soft powder-blue sky, and thin cobalt shadows raked across the foreground. The tower is drawn in detail — arched windows in bands, a finial on the spire, snow caught on the ledges — while lower campus buildings recede in paler brick to the left. Bare winter branches frame both edges. Type at the top is thin white capitals reading SYRACUSE with NEW YORK letterspaced beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Winter, on purpose — the snow is the subject as much as the architecture, which is honest to the city's reputation.
- One landmark, drawn properly — the spired tower and stepped gables are rendered window by window, not suggested.
- Warm against cold — the salmon-red stone is the only warm note in a blue and cream picture, so it carries the whole frame.
- Upstate, not the city — a New York State print for people who mean Central New York, not Manhattan.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Pale blue and cream make this an easy print for bright rooms — it sits well on the white panelled wall and the sage wall in the photographs above. The salmon-red masonry picks up terracotta, brick and warm oak, so a walnut or natural wood frame flatters it more than black. Good over a desk or in a study, where the cold light reads as calm rather than bleak.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The tower needs height to work — 18" x 27" or 24" x 36" is the sweet spot. At 8" x 12" the gable detail starts to close up.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame, wired and ready to hang.
What does the poster say? SYRACUSE across the top, with NEW YORK letterspaced beneath it. Nothing else is printed on the artwork.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
