A Fort Worth Stockyards poster caught mid-drive: four longhorns walking the brick street of Exchange Avenue, low sun raking down the block, long shadows thrown across the pavers, and the covered timber boardwalk running the length of the brick storefronts on the right.
About the artwork
A hard-edged, limited-palette screenprint look, built from four colours doing all the work: burnt orange and rust on the sunlit brick, deep teal in every shadow and on the cattle themselves, a warm amber-gold on the street, and a pale sage-green sky. Texture is stippled rather than blended, so the light breaks into grain along the roofline and the dust at the animals' feet. The horns are drawn long and slightly asymmetric, and raised lettering ending in EXCHANGE sits high on the corner facade. Printed type reads FORT WORTH above TEXAS in white sans-serif capitals. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Movement, not a monument — the cattle are walking and the shadows are stretched, so the scene has a time of day.
- Orange and teal, held tight — a four-colour scheme with no stray hues to soften it.
- The boardwalk carries the depth — a receding run of timber posts pulls the street back to a vanishing point.
- Real Texas subject matter — longhorns and stock pens, not boots-and-cactus shorthand.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The rust and amber are warm enough to hold their own on a dark wall — charcoal, deep green or clay all work, and the terracotta room in the photographs above lets the brick tones run straight into the wall. On white the teal shadows come forward and the piece reads more graphic. Espresso or natural wood frames follow the boardwalk timbers; a black frame flattens the palette and is worth avoiding here. Suits a study, a bar corner or a den.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The receding boardwalk rewards scale, so 24" x 36" and up is the better call over a sofa or a sideboard. For a narrow wall or a stairwell, 12" x 18" still reads clearly because the longhorn silhouettes are large.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship rolled and unframed for your own frame. Choose framed canvas for a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
What does the poster say? The printed type reads FORT WORTH across the top with TEXAS beneath it. Stockyards Station is not spelled out in the artwork, though the word EXCHANGE appears in raised letters on the brick facade at the top right.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
