This Stockholm watercolor print shows the red brick tower of Stockholm City Hall across the wide waters of Riddarfjärden, with Riddarholmen Church and Gamla Stan on the left. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Stockholm, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Broad blue washes form the water, with the tower's red reflection stretching across it, and birch trees in the foreground are dabbed in green and yellow. Falu red brick, sky and water blues and birch green set the palette, with copper-green roofs, three gold crowns on the spire and the cream tones of the old town. The City Hall tower stands right of center, its crowns reaching into the upper part, while the black iron spire of Riddarholmen Church rises on the left. The view comes from a rocky lookout, with a railing and birches in the foreground and pale islands fading behind. Long green-yellow drips and blue-orange splatters blur the edges into a white paper border in late summer light. "STOCKHOLM" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- White steamboat. A classic passenger steamer crosses the open water.
- Red and yellow kayaks. Two small kayaks and a little sailboat dot the bay.
- Three gold crowns. The gilded crowns on top of the tower glint against the white sky.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Its blue water and brick-red accents sit nicely in a coastal bedroom, a study or a calm living room. Consider it for a friend with Swedish roots or as a keepsake from a summer in Scandinavia.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Stockholm? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the view across Riddarfjärden. Some landmarks are placed differently than in the real view, so think of it as a painted impression.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "STOCKHOLM," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
