A Stamford Connecticut poster that looks down on the mooring field from above the water. Dozens of white sailboats sit at anchor across a deep teal harbour, masts raked at slightly different angles, while the low downtown skyline of blue-glass office towers runs along the far shore with a thin breakwater reaching out to the left.
About the artwork
Flat vector illustration built from hard-edged shapes and a tight, cool palette: deep petrol teal for the deep water, a lighter aqua band where the sun hits, chalk white for the hulls and sails, and pale grey-blue for the glass towers on the shoreline. Sunlight is drawn as thousands of small white flecks scattered across the top right of the Sound, so the water reads as glare rather than texture. The sky is a single flat cyan wash. Type at the top is thin white sans-serif capitals reading STAMFORD, with CONNECTICUT letterspaced underneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The mooring field, not a generic skyline — the subject is the fleet of sailboats on Long Island Sound, drawn boat by boat.
- Reads as one colour — teal water carries most of the frame, so it settles into a room instead of competing with it.
- Local detail — the glass office towers and the low waterfront strip place it in Stamford rather than any harbour town.
- Aerial angle — the high viewpoint gives depth without any horizon clutter.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The teal is deep enough to hold its own against warm walls — it looks especially good on the terracotta wall and walnut sideboard in the photographs above. On white or pale grey it goes quieter and more coastal. Pair it with linen, rope, brass and bleached oak rather than chrome, and hang it where daylight can catch the white flecks in the water.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a sideboard or a bed, 24" x 36" holds the wall. For a hallway or a gallery wall, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24" keeps the boats readable without crowding.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame, wired and ready to hang.
What does the poster say? STAMFORD across the top, with CONNECTICUT letterspaced beneath it. No other text appears on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
