A Spring Green Wisconsin poster looking out from a limestone outcrop over the Wisconsin River valley. A long, low house stands on the bluff edge at the right, its flat roof planes cantilevered out over the drop, ribbon windows running the whole length between rough stone piers. Weathered white rock fills the foreground, and hardwood forest rolls away in green ridges to a hazy horizon.
About the artwork
Flat vector illustration in hard-edged shapes with no outlines. The rock in the foreground is the technical centrepiece — built from stacked bands of bone white, warm grey, pale lilac and lichen green that describe bedding and shadow at once. Behind it the forest is counted in six greens, from a saturated leaf green near the bluff through olive and teal to a pale blue-green at the far ridge, which is how the picture gets its depth. The building is drawn in iron red roof planes, honey limestone and dark glass. The sky is a flat cyan with no clouds. Typography is a white sans-serif reading SPRING GREEN with WISCONSIN below in smaller letterspaced caps. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Architecture and landscape together — a rare travel print where a building and a valley share the frame on equal terms.
- Six greens, properly graded — the receding ridges are the reason this reads as distance rather than as a flat pattern.
- The Driftless country — the unglaciated hill and valley landscape of southwest Wisconsin, which looks like nowhere else in the Midwest.
- Quiet on a wall — green, stone and cyan only, with one iron-red accent in the roof.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The greens here are soft rather than acid, so this is the print that agrees most easily with the sage green room in the photographs above — wall and artwork sit in the same register. It is equally at home on chalk white or warm stone walls, where the limestone foreground picks up the wall colour. The honey stone and iron red in the house make natural oak or walnut framing the better choice over black.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The layered ridges and the rock texture both need room, so 18" x 27" is a sensible minimum and 24" x 36" is the size for a study or living room wall.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame, wired and ready to hang.
What does the poster say? The lettering reads SPRING GREEN across the sky with WISCONSIN in smaller capitals beneath. The building on the bluff is not named on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
