A Spokane Washington poster looking upstream into the gorge, where the Spokane River pours over a wide shelf in a full sheet of whitewater, a long concrete arch bridge with a stone pavilion tower crosses just above it, and the brick and glass blocks of downtown rise behind a tall bank of cumulus.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes cut in dense layers, especially the falls, where the water is built from stacked whites, ice blue and pale grey with no soft blending anywhere. The palette leans cool: slate and charcoal basalt in the gorge walls, muted sage and pine green on the trees clinging to the rock, then a broad teal-blue sky. Warm relief comes from a run of oxide-red brick buildings on the rim and a terracotta roof on the bridge pavilion. Downtown glass towers sit in pale mint and grey. Printed at the top in white capitals: SPOKANE, with WASHINGTON below. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A waterfall in the middle of a city — very few American downtowns sit directly over a drop like this, and the print puts both in one frame.
- The arch bridge over the drop — the concrete span and its stone tower are the detail that fixes this as Spokane rather than any river town.
- Basalt, pine and whitewater — an inland Northwest palette, drier and rockier than the coastal Washington prints.
- Weather as part of the picture — the piled cumulus behind the skyline gives the composition real depth.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Cool teal, grey stone and pine green make this an easy print for a calm room. It settles well against the sage green wall in the photographs above and looks clean on white or pale grey plaster. Warm walls need a natural oak frame to bridge the temperature difference; on cool walls a black frame keeps the gorge edges sharp.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The falls carry a lot of fine layering, so 24" x 36" or larger is where it really opens up. At 16" x 24" the bridge and skyline still read clearly above a desk or in a hallway.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship rolled and unframed for your own frame. Matte canvas comes stretched and ready to hang, and framed canvas adds a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Which falls are these? The Spokane Falls in the river gorge that runs straight through downtown Spokane, seen from below the concrete arch bridge on Monroe Street.
What does the poster say? SPOKANE in large white capitals across the sky, with WASHINGTON set smaller underneath.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
