This Seoul watercolor print shows Gyeonghoeru Pavilion on its stone pillars in the pond of Gyeongbokgung Palace, framed by red autumn maples. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Seoul, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Red-orange maples in the foreground are built up in thick layers, the pond holds vertical reflections of columns and roofs, and fine ink lines draw the curved tile roofs and dancheong patterns. Maple red, pond blue and charcoal roof tiles set the palette, with red and teal dancheong, golden ginkgo leaves and pink hanbok as accents. The pavilion stands left of center over the water, with a stone bridge leading right toward curved palace walls and gates. A lakeside stone path with a railing, maples and a couple in hanbok fills the left foreground, and granite mountains rise behind. Long red-pink drips and orange, red and blue splatters soften the edges into a white paper border in mid-autumn. "SEOUL" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Couple in hanbok. Two visitors in pink traditional dress pose for a photo by the pond.
- Mandarin ducks. A pair of ducks floats on the reflection of the pavilion.
- Dancheong details. Painted red and teal patterns show under the curved eaves.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Styling it at home
Rich reds and calm blues suit a living room with dark wood, a study or an autumn-styled entryway. It is a meaningful gift for someone with Korean heritage or a memory of fall in Seoul.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Seoul? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the palace pond in autumn. Trees, roofs and mountains are simplified in a loose watercolor style.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "SEOUL," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
