A Sedona travel poster taken from creek level, looking up at a wall of red sandstone with a cluster of blunt spires and a deep notch cut between them. Junipers and pines run along both banks, the far slope is dressed in green scrub, and the water in the foreground lies flat enough to carry a long orange reflection of the rock down through the bottom of the frame.
About the artwork
Detailed painted illustration with heavy line work in the foliage — the pines are drawn as individual needled masses rather than blocked-in shapes. The colour is built on a strong contrast: burnt orange and rust in the sandstone, cross-hatched with dark red shadow in the vertical fluting, against olive, sage and deep forest green in the trees. Pale buff boulders line the left bank, the creek shifts from turquoise in the shallows to near-black under the far bank, and cream cumulus stacks against a slate blue sky. Caption in white capitals over the water: SEDONA above ARIZONA. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Red rock and water together — most Sedona art is dry desert. This one is built around the creek, which is what the place actually looks like from the valley floor.
- The reflection is half the picture — the lower third repeats the butte in broken orange bands, so the print has a rhythm rather than a single focal point.
- Green does the balancing — the amount of pine and juniper keeps the orange from dominating the room.
- Dense enough to keep looking — the foliage detail and the fluted rock faces hold up at close range.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The rust and olive palette is warm all the way through, so it wants a wall with some depth to it — clay, warm ivory, or a soft olive rather than a bright white. It reads strongly above a wood console or a leather chair. The room with the cream sofa and rust cushions in the photographs above shows how easily the orange picks up an existing accent colour. Espresso or natural framing suits it; black framing can flatten the reds.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? There is a lot of fine foliage work here, so 18" x 27" upward gives it room. For a hallway or a stairwell 12" x 18" still reads because the butte silhouette is strong.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame, wired and ready to hang.
Which formation is in the picture? The twin-spired butte with the notch between is Cathedral Rock, drawn from the Oak Creek side — the view most people know from Red Rock Crossing, south-west of the town.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

- Reads slightly softer than canvas.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
