A Schnoor Bremen poster drawn from the middle of the lane: coral-red, ochre and duck-egg brick houses leaning in from both sides, orange pantile roofs almost meeting overhead, and a wedge of late sun lying along the cobbles between tubs of geraniums.
About the artwork
The whole thing is built on one-point perspective. Every roofline, gutter and window sill converges on a small bright gap of turquoise sky at the far end of the alley, so the eye is pulled down the street whether it wants to go or not. Colour does the rest of the work: a red-painted house on the left standing face to face with a teal one on the right, an ochre gable holding the middle distance, and the same slate-blue door repeated three times down the row. Cobbles fill the lower third, drawn stone by stone in warm sand and cool grey, with the shadow line of the eaves cutting across them on a diagonal. Close up you start finding the small things — a lamp bracket over a doorway, a climbing rose against bare brick, stone steps up to a raised threshold, terracotta pots crowded onto the kerb. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Germany beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A lane, not a landmark. The subject is a street you walk down, which is why it reads as somewhere lived in.
- Red against teal. Two facade colours carry the print and give you an obvious accent to echo in the room.
- Depth in a narrow shape. Converging roofs make the tall format work on a tall, tight wall.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Made for hallways, stairwells and any wall taller than it is wide, where the receding lane has room to do its trick. It settles against warm white, putty or clay-coloured paint, and likes aged brass or bronze fittings, dark stained wood and a runner underfoot. A black frame sharpens the teal shutters; walnut leans into the brick and makes the print warmer. Hang it near the Cologne or Delft prints if you want a northern European group with the same steep-roofed character.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Is there much sky in this one? Only a narrow wedge above the rooftops at the end of the lane, so it holds a wall where a wide open horizon would read as empty.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
