A Sarajevo travel poster of the old bazaar square: the wooden fountain kiosk under its green dome standing in the middle of a crowd, market awnings crowding in on both sides, and a minaret and a red-roofed hillside rising behind.
About the artwork
Busy, and the busyness is the point. The square fills the lower half in pale stone paving with something like a hundred small figures walking across it, each one a few strokes long with a shadow trailing behind. At the centre stands the octagonal timber kiosk: dark red-brown posts, latticed screens, a stone base with a step running around it, and an oxidised green dome with a finial on top. Low market buildings press in from both sides under terracotta tile, with rust and orange awnings and café umbrellas below them. Behind those a mosque shows a matching green dome and a tall white minaret with its balcony and pointed cap. The hill beyond is packed with white houses and red roofs stacked up the slope, cypress and green trees between them, and a soft green ridge closes the top under a pale teal sky. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Bosnia & Herzegovina beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A square full of people. Most travel prints empty the streets, and this one keeps the crowd that makes the place.
- Two green domes and a minaret. Oxidised green against rust roofs, the colour pairing the city is built on.
- The hillside behind. Houses climbing the slope give the print depth well past the square itself.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Warm, busy and sociable, so it belongs in rooms where people gather: a dining room, a kitchen wall, the end of an open-plan space. Cream, clay and warm sand walls carry the terracotta, and a deep olive wall makes the green domes sing. Kilim rugs, brass, walnut and glazed ceramic suit it. A walnut or espresso frame follows the timber of the kiosk, while black keeps it graphic. It works alongside other warm-toned old town prints rather than beside cool coastal ones.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
What is the wooden structure in the middle? It is the covered public fountain that stands at the centre of the old bazaar square, an octagonal timber kiosk on a stone base under a green dome.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.

- Reads slightly softer than canvas.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
