A Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor poster taken from the forest edge above the water on Oregon's far south coast. A rock arch stands mid-channel with the sea running through it, a steep sea stack on the left carries a whole row of conifers on its crown, and a long jade wave curls in below. Spruce trunks frame both sides of the view.
About the artwork
Painted in a dense illustrative style with deep, saturated colour rather than flat vector shapes. The rock is drawn with vertical striations and moss ledges, the trees as layered dark green silhouettes, and the water in bands of jade, teal and deep blue-green with white foam worked into the breaking crest. The sky grades from teal at the top down to a warm peach horizon, with cumulus stacked on the right and a distant blue headland behind the arch. Caption in white capitals across the lower third: SAMUEL H. BOARDMAN, STATE SCENIC CORRIDOR, OREGON. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The arch, not just a beach — the natural rock bridge is what people drive the Boardman corridor to see, and it is the anchor of the composition.
- Trees on the stacks — conifers growing out of bare sea rock is the detail that separates this stretch from every other Pacific coastline.
- Framed by forest — the dark spruce edges pull your eye into the channel and give the print real depth.
- Green-forward palette — jade water and forest green sit well in rooms where blue-heavy coastal art would feel cold.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The deep greens want a wall with some warmth behind them — bone, mushroom or a soft clay rather than cool grey. It reads well in a study or a bedroom where the peach horizon can catch evening light, and it pairs comfortably with the cream sofa and rust cushions in the photographs above. Espresso or natural wood framing suits it better than white.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The detail in the trees and the arch holds up small, so 12" x 18" works on a narrow wall. For a main wall go to 24" x 36" or larger, where the wave and the striated rock come into their own.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame, wired and ready to hang.
Where along the corridor is this? The arch and the tree-topped stacks are the view from the Natural Bridges end of the corridor, on the twelve-mile stretch of Highway 101 north of Brookings.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
