This Salvador, Brazil watercolor print shows the Art Deco Elevador Lacerda linking the lower city to the pastel facades of Pelourinho above the Bay of All Saints. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Salvador, Brazil, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
The elevator tower is washed in pale cream and left largely as paper, with fine ink lines around its windows. Old town facades are flat blocks of coral, yellow and sky blue, and the bay is turquoise with horizontal reflections. Turquoise water, Bahia yellow from the Mercado Modelo and creamy white lead the palette, with coral and sky blue houses as accents. The tower stands left of center and reaches into the upper third, Pelourinho's pastel houses and a twin-towered church sit on the cliff to the right, and the yellow market waits at the base. Saveiro sailboats and small boats float across the foreground water on a warm summer day. "SALVADOR" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Saveiro sails. White-sailed saveiro boats carry fishermen across the bay.
- Market by the water. Sun umbrellas line the shore in front of the yellow Mercado Modelo.
- Green cliffside. A band of greenery sits under the old town on the cliff.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Styling it at home
Turquoise, yellow and coral feel bright in a sunroom, a bathroom or a beach house living room. It is a lovely gift for someone with roots in Bahia or a souvenir of a trip to the coast of Brazil.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Salvador, Brazil? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Salvador's waterfront and old town, painted for mood and color rather than as an exact view.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "SALVADOR," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
