A Segovia aqueduct poster taken from under the arches: two tiers of granite running diagonally across the sky, cafe parasols in orange and turquoise filling the square below, and snow still lying on the mountains beyond.
About the artwork
The aqueduct is drawn from low down and close, so the arches sweep from the bottom left corner up to the top right and out of the frame; the scale comes from not being able to see either end. Every granite block is drawn, warm sunlit faces in pale grey and biscuit, cool violet-grey undersides, with the joints picked out as fine lines. Through the arches you get glimpses of a dry plain in gold and pale green, a line of white-topped mountains on the horizon and the town roofs beneath them. The lower third is the counterweight: a paved plaza packed with round parasols in orange, apricot and turquoise, cream awnings, small tables, a slim cypress, an ochre building with an iron balcony on the left and a scatter of small figures walking with bags. The sky is a single flat turquoise. The title is set in wide-tracked uppercase and reads Segovia, with Spain beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Arches that leave the frame. A low viewpoint that makes the aqueduct feel as tall as it really is.
- Every block drawn. Granite masonry rendered course by course rather than textured in.
- Orange parasols under a turquoise sky. Two blocks of complementary colour at either end of the print.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Warm, busy and sociable, which makes it a kitchen or dining-room print rather than a bedroom one. It looks strong on white and warm grey walls, and very good on burnt orange or ochre if you already have that colour in the room. Black frames suit the graphic edges of the masonry while natural oak softens the whole thing. It works near terracotta, copper and dark wood. Hang it with the Ibiza print for two Spanish walls, one Roman and one much later.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
What are the white peaks in the distance? Snow on the mountain range behind the city, seen through the arches above the open plain.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
