A Rockefeller State Park Preserve poster that follows a wide gravel carriage road out of the foreground, over a dry-laid stone arch bridge, and away into rolling Hudson Valley farmland. Two riders on horseback are crossing the road on the left, and the river slips under the single arch below them.
About the artwork
An illustrative painting worked in fine parallel strokes, so the grass, the tree canopies and the gravel surface all carry visible texture. Each stone in the bridge is drawn separately. The colour runs through meadow green and mown ochre in the patchwork fields, deep pine green in the foreground branch, a single burnt-red maple on the right, and dry gold grasses either side of the road; behind them the ridges stack up in flat layers of blue-grey under a bank of white and grey cumulus. Wheel ruts lead the eye straight into the picture. The bottom band reads ROCKEFELLER with STATE PARK and NEW YORK below it in white capitals. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Carriage roads, not trails — the wide crushed-stone road and its stone bridge are the character of this preserve, and they are the subject here.
- Riders on the road — two small figures on horseback give the landscape a working scale and a sense of everyday use.
- Hudson Valley in early autumn — fields turning gold, one maple already red, the hills still green.
- Strong lead-in line — the road runs out of the bottom edge, which makes it an easy print to hang at eye level in a hallway.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Gold grass, mown ochre and soft green make this a quiet, warm print that sits happily on cream, sand or pale sage walls. Natural oak framing matches the road; a black frame sharpens the stonework, which is how it looks on the narrow console in the photographs above. It suits a hallway or a dining room with rush seating and unglazed pottery, and it will not compete with a busy rug.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The riders and the far fields are small elements, so 18" x 27" and up is best. In a hallway a pair at 12" x 18" also works well.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? The printed wording is ROCKEFELLER on the first line, then STATE PARK and NEW YORK below. The full official name of the park is Rockefeller State Park Preserve, in Westchester County near Sleepy Hollow.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
