A Petrified Forest National Park mid-century modern print: banded badlands in magenta, crimson, violet and blue-gray surrounding a pale dry wash strewn with golden and teal petrified logs under a turquoise sky. The title, PETRIFIED FOREST, sits at the top in white capitals above NATIONAL PARK • ARIZONA • EST 1962.
About the artwork
The badlands frame the left and distant buttes the horizon, the wash winds from the center into the distance and big petrified logs fill the lower right. High, bright light keeps every color saturated. First protected as a national monument in 1906, Petrified Forest became a national park in 1962.
Why you'll love it
- Bold desert color. Magenta, crimson and turquoise make it a striking statement piece.
- Thirteen sizes. Start at 8" x 12" for a shelf or go up to 30" x 40" for a statement wall.
- Part of a matching set. Every park in this mid-century series carries the same white title and dotted subtitle, so a grid of them reads as one collection.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, color-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
It suits a bold living room or a creative studio. Magenta and turquoise pair with white walls and black accents; a black frame sharpens the bands.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the color, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? 12" x 18" or 16" x 24" for a gallery wall or above a desk; 24" x 36" or larger above a sofa, mantel or bed.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
How is this different from your other Petrified Forest prints? This is the mid-century modern print: petrified logs in magenta and violet badlands, with the white title across the top. The vintage travel poster, WPA, screen print, retro, panoramic, oil, watercolor, illustrated and landmark Petrified Forest prints are separate designs.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
