A Reichsburg Cochem poster looking downstream from the far slope: the castle on its rock spur high on the left with turrets and steep grey roofs, vineyard terraces stepping down beneath it, and the Moselle bending away between wooded hills.
About the artwork
This is a green picture before it is a castle picture. The valley is built from overlapping ridges that get paler and bluer as they go back, each one drawn with its own texture — dense conifer on the near slope, a soft stippled canopy in the middle, almost flat colour on the furthest hill. The vineyards read as fine parallel rows combed across the terraces in a lighter yellow-green, which is what tells you the scale of everything else. The river runs from the middle of the frame to the bottom right in slate and teal, its surface flecked with small pale marks where the light catches. The castle is the one piece of hard geometry: a square keep, pointed turret roofs, an oriel and a run of pale stone wall, all silhouetted against the trees. Look for the stone arch bridge and the few village roofs tucked into the far bank. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Germany beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A castle drawn in its landscape. It sits in the valley rather than posing in the centre of the frame.
- Vineyard terraces. The combed rows on the slope give the hillside a rhythm you keep reading.
- Green from top to bottom. An unusually restful print for a room that already has enough colour in it.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
A study, library or landing print — quiet, deep and slightly cool. It sits well on olive, sage or bottle-green walls, and against pale grey it reads almost like a window. Leather, worn oak and old books are its natural company; brass picture lights suit it better than chrome. Espresso and natural oak frames both work, with espresso pushing the greens darker. It pairs with the Melk Abbey or Stein am Rhein prints for a river-and-hills group.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Is the castle the main subject? It is the focal point, but the river and the vineyard slopes take up far more of the picture, so the print works as a landscape first.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
