A mid century abstract wall art print in vermilion, black and cream: a red sky over a horizon of black and cream stripes, with a rippling carved sea and a black wedge in the corner.
About the artwork
The sun is almost invisible — it appears only as a few fine arcs of paler red inside the solid red block, sitting low on the horizon. Beneath it, alternating black and cream bands run across the width, two of them red, before the lines begin to ripple like cut linoleum. The lower left corner is taken by a diagonal black form flecked with grain. A cream margin surrounds the whole image, and the red carries a paper-and-roller texture.
Why you'll love it
- Bold colour in a simple shape. Red and black give instant energy.
- Mid century mood. At home with teak, leather and brass.
- Looks great in pairs. Match it with the red sun and black sea lines print.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
This print wants a warm, confident room: a teak sideboard, a leather chair, a rug with some rust in it. It also brightens a white office. Black frames make it graphic; natural oak ties it to wood furniture.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Where is the sun? Hidden in the red sky, drawn only with thin pale red arcs just above the horizon.
Is it textured? It has a printed paper-and-roller grain but a flat surface.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
