A Raleigh, North Carolina travel poster that looks down a curving flagstone path in a downtown park, out through the arms of two enormous oaks, toward a green copper dome and a wall of glass and limestone towers standing in clear afternoon light.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes with hard edges and stacked, poster-style shading instead of blended gradients. The palette runs deep forest and lime green through the oak canopy and the lawn, warm sienna and umber in the trunks, verdigris on the dome, then pale sand, cream and cool glass blue across the towers under a flat teal sky. Details worth finding: the slim black lamp post beside the path, the columned stone portico beneath the dome, the stepped crown and thin spire on the tallest glass tower, and one small cumulus cloud low on the left. The printed type reads RALEIGH in wide white capitals above NORTH CAROLINA. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The oaks do the framing — two trunks and a low canopy form a natural arch around the downtown view, so the print reads as a place you stood in, not a postcard.
- One green dome anchors it — the verdigris dome and its columned portico sit dead centre, giving the eye somewhere to land between the towers.
- Green that works year round — forest, lime and sage carry the composition, which is rarer in city prints and easier to live with than a grey skyline.
- Ground-level, not aerial — the flagstone path starts at the bottom edge and pulls you in on foot.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The greens are deep and warm rather than acid, so they settle against cream, oatmeal and clay walls, and they pick up beautifully next to real foliage. The sage room in the photographs above shows how close the wall colour can sit to the canopy without the print disappearing. Oak or walnut frames echo the trunks; a black frame sharpens the dome and the glass.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The tree canopy and the dome both carry fine edges, so 18" x 24" and up is where the detail opens out. For a sofa or bed wall, 24" x 36" holds the space on its own.
Does it come framed? Paper ships unframed and rolled. Matte canvas is stretched and ready to hang. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? RALEIGH in tall white capitals across the sky, with NORTH CAROLINA set smaller directly underneath. No other text appears.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
