A Provincetown Cape Cod poster of the outer beach at low tide. A line of weathered shingle cottages stands on tall wooden pilings, stepping away from the viewer and shrinking toward the far dunes. The tide has pulled back to leave wet ribbed sand, shallow pools holding the sky, and long shadows running out from every post as the light goes gold.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes with hard edges and fine texture, cut into broad bands of light and shadow. The palette is warm and low: apricot and peach across the sand, coral in the wet reflections, weathered cedar tan on the cottage walls, slate blue and deep teal in the roofs and shadowed sides, with a sky that fades from pale teal at the top to soft peach at the horizon. Details to look for are the crossed bracing under the pilings, the thin flagpole and chimney on the first cottage, the shingle courses picked out one by one, and the ripple pattern carved into the foreground sand. The type reads PROVINCETOWN above MASSACHUSETTS in white capitals. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The outer beach, not the harbour — stilt cottages and open tidal flats, the quiet side of the Cape.
- Golden hour colour — peach and apricot sand against slate blue roofs, warm without being sweet.
- Depth you can read — the receding cottage line and the pilings give the print real perspective from across a room.
- A summer marker — for anyone who has walked that tideline in August, the shape of these cottages is instantly familiar.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The peach and cedar tones warm up a cool room, so this one sits well on off-white, pale grey or soft clay walls, and it flatters linen bedding and rattan. A bedroom is the natural home for it, above the headboard where the low horizon line stays at eye level. In the terracotta room in the photographs above, the black frame holds the warm sand in check; a natural oak frame instead lets the whole print glow.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Over a bed or a long sofa, 24" x 36" carries the wall. In a hallway or as part of a coastal set, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24" is a better fit. Check your frame opening before ordering paper.
Does it come framed? Paper prints arrive rolled and unframed. Matte canvas is stretched and ready to hang, and framed canvas adds a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? PROVINCETOWN runs across the top in white capitals, with MASSACHUSETTS set smaller beneath it. There is no other lettering on the design.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
