A Providence, Rhode Island travel poster looking upriver from a rise. The river swings through the frame in a long S, edged both sides by tree-lined riverwalk lawns and paved paths. A stone arch bridge crosses in the middle distance, red brick blocks fill the banks, and the white marble State House dome stands at the head of the view with its lantern and flanking corner turrets.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes, hard edges, drawn in layers that recede by tone rather than blur. The palette runs cool: cerulean sky, mid-blue water ruled with fine horizontal ripple lines, and five greens for the riverside trees, from bright lawn to almost black shade. Against them sit brick red and rust roofs, sandstone and bone for the older blocks, and pure white marble for the dome. Small details reward a look — lamp posts along the path, benches on the lawn, a low balustraded terrace below the State House. Typography is white and centred in the sky: PROVIDENCE above RHODE ISLAND. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The river carries the eye — the S-curve of water pulls you from the bottom edge straight to the dome.
- White marble against brick — one clean pale mass in a frame otherwise full of red and green.
- City and park together — the wooded riverwalk banks are as much the subject as the buildings.
- Quiet colour — blues and greens with a red accent, easy to live with in a shared room.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Blue water and deep summer green make this a cooling print, so it lifts a warm room rather than fighting it. On the sage wall in the photographs above the tree line does most of the talking; on cream or pale grey the brick reds come forward instead. Walnut and brass suit it, and a black frame sharpens the marble dome.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The riverbanks hold a lot of small architecture, so 24" x 36" and up gives it room. At 16" x 24" the river curve and the dome still read clearly on a narrower wall.
Does it come framed? Paper ships rolled and unframed. Matte canvas is stretched and ready to hang. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? Two lines of white capitals at the top: PROVIDENCE, and RHODE ISLAND below it. Nothing else on the print is lettered.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
